China receives entry into the economic powers club…
Congratulations, China!
As confirmation of their status as an Economic Power, China is building one of the world’s trademark tourist attractions of exuberance: a Disney theme park.
China (mainland) joins Japan, France, Hong Kong and America (twice) in the Land of Disney.
The park will be in Shanghai and will cause resettlement of 4 million square meters. (The Chinese press speaks in freaky measurement language, so now Americans will know how much that is.)
It will be open in 2014.
Apparently Barack Obama’s visit to China on November 15 is going to accelerate the process, or something.
Of course, he can buy an ObaMao shirt while he’s there…
