Moral Relativism on Hitler

Mitchell Blatt

This is Mitchell Blatt’s weekly column. Subscribe to his columns at Mitch Blatt.com.

“Hitler was a good scapegoat, but I want to open people’s minds about him.”

The far right talk show hosts are at it again, this time spreading smears and hate against German leader Adolf Hitler.

No, seriously, that’s what Oliver Stoned would have been saying in 1944.

The man who immortalized Che Guevara is off to set the record straight and correct the right-wing’s misinformation campaign about Hitler.

In a new documentary series titled “Secret History of America,” Stoned says, “I’ve been able to walk in Stalin’s shoes and Hitler’s shoes to understand their point of view. We’re going to educate our minds and liberalize them and broaden them.”

Naturally, his goal is to prove that America is responsible for the mass murder of 12 million during the Holocaust and millions more in Stalin’s Russia.

“Go into the funding of the Nazi party. How many American corporations were involved, from GM through IBM.”

Right, it was America’s fault that some of her companies were doing business in Germany, not the Nazi’s fault for… …killing 12 million people.

Naturally, Stoned is the best source for information about US history. With regards to John F. Kennedy’s assassination, he thinks that the CIA, FBI, Secret Service, Lyndon B. Johnson, and Marilyn Manson’s music killed Kennedy. (Though recent email leaks suggest global warming was the real culprit.)

However there is a bigger issue than just one fanatic having stuff come out of his mouth. The larger issue is about the progressive elite’s absolute lack of moral values.

Barack Obama Shows You How to Lie (C-SPAN)

Mitchell Blatt

Barack Obama said that the healthcare negotiations were going to be “broadcast on C-SPAN.” At least eight times.

Well, we know what happened with that. Here’s Obama, Pelosi and Gibbs staring in a music video for the Offspring’s “You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid” (lyrics: “Show me how to lie”)

War needed against communism? No, political campaign needed against communism.

Mitchell Blatt

Managing Director must respond to Sumantra’s post titled “A second cold war is needed against global communism…”.

Sumantra, the blogging editor here, is sounding like an American neo-con.

In the post, he basically argues like America needs take an interventionist approach around the world to get rid of communism worldwide. (As if the American military isn’t already exerting enough resources in the Middle East fighting terrorism…)

Sumantra notes that communism has strongholds on South America and is rising in India, that Communist China is on rise globally, and that anti-American sentiment is burning in Iran.

Well, of course there’s going to be some countries that adopt stupid economic policies, and in most of those in South America, the people, at least originally, voted for the stupid economic policies themselves, before the leader became a dictator.

(And Iran is a theocratic Islamic state, so that doesn’t really have anything to do with America. But, as America is the most powerful nation, people are going to hate her because of her power.)

But how does that affect America?

Chavez can give a speech at the UN calling George Bush the devil. Whoa, big problems there. We’ve got problems here in America in our White House with a president who is trying to pass a bill that caps the amount of energy America can use.

How can America fight a “second Cold War” when our own president is the leading cause of communism rising in the world?

One thing Tucker Carlson beats Brietbart at

Bombs and Dollars

Last May, Tucker Carlson announced the launching of his revolutionary website, The Daily Caller, branding it as a “conservative Huffington Post”.

Since then, while Tucker Carlson’s conservative Huffington Post has functioned mostly as a “coming soon” page, Andrew Brietbart has launched Big Government, where he released undercover videos at ACORN offices that led to ACORN being temporarily defunded by Congress and investigated in some states.

Brietbart has announced he is launching other “Big” style blogs, including Big Journalism and Big Environmentalism.

While Brietbart may have made a better blog launch than Carlson, Bombs and Dollars has to give credit to Tucker for the launch of his “coming soon” page completely annihilating the launch of Brietbart’s “coming soon” page.

Here is Carlson’s: Continue reading

CRU scientists: The hockey stick model may be worthless scientifically, but it’s good at influencing people

Mitchell Blatt

While a popular “hockey stick” model has been admittedly “worthless” scientifically, global warming scientists continue to use it just to influence people.

Here Barry Cooke comments on the scientific validity of the hockey stick model:

If the worth of a model is measured by its ability to predict, then a model that explains 0.5% of the variation in some variable is fairly (but not necessarily completely) “worthless.”

Dr. Maryanne W. Newton said that the model was terribly flawed but that they should continue to use it to push for global warming publicly because it was good at influencing people.

She is responding to this:

>Maryanne’s message further claims that the “characterization of the
>hockey stick as ‘worthless’ underscores what appears to be a basic lack

>of understanding of how scientific consensus is formed”. Yet if a
>consensus is based on invalid statistical analysis, then the consensus
>is wrong.

And this is her response:

To take an example from history, many of Charles Darwin’s observations are pure amateurish nonsense by the standards of even the late 19th century, but no one would doubt their value in building the consensus for evolution. The question is not always strict veracity, but whether work provokes fruitful questions, or leads research in a constructive direction.

CRU’s Phil Jones exposes himself as an anti-nuclear power advocate

Bombs and Dollars

Phil Jones, who is currently under investigation for his role in lying about global warming, is against nuclear energy that can produce no carbon emissions.

Jones made these comments about Piers Corbyn, a British meteorologist who studies solar phenomena.

He’s an utter prat but he’s getting a lot of air time at the moment. … He now believes he knows all there is to know about the global warming issue. He’s not all bad as he doesn’t have much confidence in nuclear-power safety. Always says that at the begining of his interviews to show he’s not all bad !

Attention whores to whom no attention should be paid

Mitchell Blatt

At Obama’s state dinner, two celebrity TV whores crashed the party. This is my post about it.

Tortured Logic: $40 billion will create 1 million jobs!

Mitchell Blatt

In today’s Paul Krugman article, Paul Krugman references an Economic Policy Institute article that says that $40 billion will create 1 million jobs.

Let’s see how many jobs the $787 billion stimulus package created, according to the administration: 600,000. (Coincidentally, the same number of jobs Obama projected it would create.)

Here’s from the EPI report:

A $40 billion investment in public service employment would employ an estimated 1 million people.

Wait, so why did we spend $800 billion on stimulus, when we could have created much more jobs with $40 billion?

Liberals Praise Huckabee for Freeing a Murderer

Bombs and Dollars

Here’s one thing I’ve got to praise liberals for: they’re incredibly principled when it comes to pardoning mass murderers.

In 1988, Mike Dukakis lost the Democrats presidential bid to George Bush. One of the reasons for his support in the Democratic primary and later his lack of support in the general election was the fact that he had freed some notable murderers of his own, one of whom, while on vacation from prison, murdered someone else, and Democrats thought it was racist for Republicans to be against murder. (It’s a cultural thing, you know.)

Well now Mike Huckabee freed a murderer, and the liberals are ecstatic, not because it shows a Republican being an idiot, but because this guy killed 4 cops after being freed by Huckabee from a 60 year sentence some years ago.

He had a previous track record of five felony convictions for things like robbery, child rape, handgun possession on school property, but who would have thought he might commit another crime?

Matt Yglesias at ThinkProgress certainly didn’t:

60 years for burglary and theft for an eighteen year-old seems incredibly excessive. … It’s hard to see what … would make you think this was a guy at risk of doing something like this.

Yep, child rape, burglary, theft, illegal possession of firearms… Nothing wrong here. Seems Yglesias has found his candidate for 2012.

Andrew Sullivan over at The Daily Dish doesn’t see anything wrong with the murders Clemmons carried out.

His only response was:

The base won’t like that, will they?

Well, gee, I would hope the Republican base wouldn’t like the fact that 4 police officers died.

John Marshall at Talking Points Memo praises Huckabee for his policy of pardoning murderers. In fact, he argues for more murderers to be pardoned.

I think there are far too few uses of executive clemency, commutation and pardon in our current criminal justice system.

These murders are a great vindication of Marshall and Huckabee’s policies.

And on the opposite side of these cultured intellectuals, you have racist fear-mongerers against murder like:

Send a Message to Blanche Lincoln

Mitchell Blatt

Her job is on the line; make sure she doesn’t support Obamacare.

Sen. Blance Lincoln (D-AR) voted for Obamacare to go to debate last weekend. Considering McCain easily won Arkansas and that Obama’s disapproval rating is up to 62% in Arkansas and that Lincoln is involved in a neck-and-neck reelection campaign (RCP has her up by 0.3%.), it’s kind of surprising why she would do that…

Anyway, she should be one of the top targets for activists to try to sway her vote, because, well, if she doesn’t, she won’t have a job next year.

So I’ve created this flier you can fax to her highlighting the latest poll data:

Click here to download it. (PDF)

Then go to FaxZero to send it for free.

Her fax numbers are:
DC – (202) 228-1371
Little Rock – (501) 375-7064
Dumas – (870) 382-1026
Jonesboro – (870) 910-6898
Fayetteville – (479) 251-1410
Texarkana – (870) 774-7627

(The phone number for her DC office is (202) 224-4843.)

FaxZero will let you send two free faxes per day. Send it to DC and to a local office then come back tomorrow and send it to DC and a local office and do it every day until Obamacare fails.

It’s the least we can do for her to provide her with this urgent message about the polls and help her with reelection.
