Managing Director must respond to Sumantra’s post titled “A second cold war is needed against global communism…”.
Sumantra, the blogging editor here, is sounding like an American neo-con.
In the post, he basically argues like America needs take an interventionist approach around the world to get rid of communism worldwide. (As if the American military isn’t already exerting enough resources in the Middle East fighting terrorism…)
Sumantra notes that communism has strongholds on South America and is rising in India, that Communist China is on rise globally, and that anti-American sentiment is burning in Iran.
Well, of course there’s going to be some countries that adopt stupid economic policies, and in most of those in South America, the people, at least originally, voted for the stupid economic policies themselves, before the leader became a dictator.
(And Iran is a theocratic Islamic state, so that doesn’t really have anything to do with America. But, as America is the most powerful nation, people are going to hate her because of her power.)
But how does that affect America?
Chavez can give a speech at the UN calling George Bush the devil. Whoa, big problems there. We’ve got problems here in America in our White House with a president who is trying to pass a bill that caps the amount of energy America can use.
How can America fight a “second Cold War” when our own president is the leading cause of communism rising in the world?
